📋 General Questions
We work with a variety of wood species including basswood (light, fine grain), walnut (dark, premium), cherry (warm reddish tones), beech (hard, smooth), white oak (classic, durable), maple (pale, strong), bamboo (eco-friendly, light), and teak (water-resistant). Each wood species has distinct grain patterns and characteristics. We can also source other species upon request.
Our standard card follows the CR80 format: 85.5 × 54 mm (the same as a standard credit card). We also offer custom sizes from 20 × 20 mm to 200 × 100 mm. Thickness options include 1.3mm, 1.5mm, 1.8mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm. Custom shapes are available via laser cutting.
Yes! We offer sample orders for most products. Blank samples are often free (you only pay shipping). Custom samples with your design are charged at a nominal fee, which is refundable on bulk orders over 5,000 pieces. Sample lead time is typically 3-5 business days.
No MOQ. We accept orders starting from 1 piece for plain wooden cards. For RFID/NFC-enabled cards, the starting quantity is also very flexible. Gift and greeting cards can start from just a few pieces. We're flexible — contact us and we'll find a solution for your order size.
Absolutely. We provide full OEM and ODM services including custom logo printing, brand packaging, color matching, and custom chip encoding. Our R&D team can also help design unique wooden card solutions for your specific requirements. We have experience serving hotels, retailers, event companies, and tech brands worldwide.
🎨 Design & Customization
We offer multiple customization methods: (1) Laser Engraving — precise debossed text, logos, and illustrations with permanent results; (2) UV Color Printing — full-color photographic quality printing directly on wood; (3) Screen Printing — cost-effective for bulk orders with spot colors; (4) Hot Stamping — gold, silver, or custom foil stamping for luxury finishes. We can combine techniques for unique effects.
Yes, our UV printing technology allows us to print full-color photographic images directly onto wood surfaces. The UV ink bonds with the wood grain, creating vibrant colors while maintaining the natural wood texture visible around the printed areas. This is perfect for artwork reproduction, photo gift cards, and detailed illustrations.
Yes! We use precision laser cutting to create any custom shape — circles, ovals, key-shaped cards, heart cards, animal silhouettes, or completely unique designs. Die-cut shapes are priced based on complexity and quantity. Custom molds can be created for large orders.
We accept AI, EPS, PDF, CDR, PSD, and high-resolution JPEG/TIFF files. For laser engraving, vector files (AI, EPS) are preferred for the best quality. We'll provide a digital mockup and proof for your approval before production begins. Our design team can also help optimize your artwork at no extra charge.
Yes. We offer edge painting in matching colors or contrasting tones for a premium finish. Edge polishing creates a smooth, glossy edge that highlights the wood's natural beauty. These options add a refined touch, especially popular for VIP cards, business cards, and luxury gift items.
📶 RFID & NFC Chips
We support all major RFID/NFC chip types: LF (125kHz): EM4100, TK4100, HID-compatible; HF (13.56MHz): MIFARE 1K/4K, NTAG213/215/216, DESFire, FM08; UHF (860-960MHz): EPC Gen2/ISO 18000-6C. We can recommend the best chip based on your application (access control, payment, identification, inventory, etc.).
In most cases, yes. Our RFID cards are compatible with all standard readers and systems operating at the same frequency. When inquiring, please tell us your existing lock/card system brand and model, or the reader frequency you use. We can pre-encode chips with your specific UID or data before shipping. We regularly supply cards compatible with Salto, Onity, VingCard, HID, and many other systems.
Yes! Our NFC cards with NTAG chips can be programmed to: open URLs (websites, videos, social media); share vCard contact information; trigger phone actions (save contact, follow on social media, check-in); connect to Bluetooth devices; launch apps. We provide free NFC encoding for standard tasks. For complex programming, our tech team can develop custom NFC actions.
Read range depends on chip type and reader: LF (125kHz): 3-8 cm (contactless, low interference); HF (13.56MHz/NFC): 3-10 cm (compatible with all NFC phones); UHF (860-960MHz): up to 3-5 meters (long-range applications). Metal environments may reduce range; we offer anti-metal tags for such cases.
The chip itself is potted in epoxy, making it water-resistant. For fully waterproof cards (submersible applications), we offer IP67-rated waterproof wooden cards with special encapsulation. Standard wooden RFID cards handle everyday moisture, humidity, and splashes but should not be fully submerged.
Yes, we can embed multiple chips (dual-chip or combo chips) for applications requiring LF + HF, or HF + UHF functionality in a single card. This is popular for campus cards (student ID + library + door access) or transit cards (payment + loyalty). Multiple chips increase cost and thickness slightly.
🏭 Production & Lead Time
Standard lead times: Sample: 3-5 business days; Plain cards (no chip): 5-7 business days; RFID/NFC cards: 7-15 business days; Custom shapes/dies: add 3-5 days; Large orders (10,000+ pcs): 15-25 business days. Rush orders are available with expedite fees. We always provide a confirmed production schedule with your order confirmation.
Quality control is embedded throughout our process: (1) Incoming material inspection — wood quality checked before processing; (2) In-process QC — chip embedding, printing, and cutting inspected at each stage; (3) Pre-shipment inspection — every card tested for chip functionality; (4) Packaging check — correct quantity, labeling, and packaging. Our QC rate exceeds 99.5%. We can provide inspection reports, photos, or video upon request.
Yes, we use professional color matching for both print and paint. For printing, we match CMYK, Pantone (PMS), or RAL colors. For wood stains and edge paints, we reference RAL or custom color swatches. We'll send color proofs for approval before bulk production. Note that wood's natural grain may cause slight color variation between pieces — we minimize this with consistent sourcing.
Yes. Private labeling includes: (1) Product branding — your logo printed/engraved on cards; (2) Packaging branding — custom boxes, sleeves, or envelopes with your brand; (3) Document inserts — warranty cards, user guides, or thank-you notes. We can blind-ship in plain boxes if needed for resellers.

🏨 Hotel Key Cards
Our wooden hotel key cards are available in all major RFID/NFC frequencies compatible with hotel lock systems worldwide. We're experienced with Salto, Onity, VingCard (ASSA ABLOY), Kaba, dormakaba, MIWA, Gobo, and most other hotel lock brands. When ordering, please specify your lock system model and we'll recommend the correct chip type. We also offer universal encoding services.
No. Our wooden cards are precision-cut to exact CR80 dimensions with smooth, sanded edges. The slight texture difference from plastic cards actually reduces scratching on card reader rollers in most cases. We recommend informing your housekeeping staff to handle with care (as with any premium card). Many boutique hotels report that wooden cards create a memorable guest experience with no operational issues.
With proper care, wooden hotel key cards typically last 2-5 years depending on usage. We apply a protective lacquer finish that resists moisture, scratches, and fading. For high-traffic properties, we recommend 2.0mm+ thickness and reinforced edge finishing. Replacement rates for wooden cards are comparable to PVC in our experience with 100+ hotel clients worldwide.
Yes, we offer pre-encoding services: Guest card encoding — we encode cards with your lock system's specific data before shipping, ready to use upon arrival; Batch encoding — large orders can be pre-encoded with sequential UIDs; Custom data encoding — NFC cards can be programmed with URLs, vCards, or other data. Encoding is done using professional RFID encoders to ensure 100% accuracy.
